About the Blanket
This is more than a simple stockinette baby blanket. The body combines decorative lace sections with cable columns, while a garter-stitch border gives the finished blanket a neat, classic appearance.
Although the original is shown in pink, the design is not limited to baby girls. A neutral, blue, cream or modern nursery color would work equally well.
Yarn, Gauge & Size
The original pattern uses Caron Simply Soft and calls for four balls. The finished blanket measures approximately 35 × 46 inches (89 × 117 cm).
The recommended needle is a US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle, used to comfortably hold the large number of stitches while the blanket is worked flat.
The stated gauge is 18 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch. Check your gauge before beginning if matching the original finished measurements is important.
