What Makes Pull Gaspard Special?
Pull Gaspard is immediately recognizable because it does not look like a conventional baby pullover. The large hood frames the neckline while the front pocket creates a strong geometric detail across the lower body.
Garter-stitch sections contrast with the smoother main fabric, adding definition without relying on complicated colorwork.
It is also designed as a layering piece, with short sleeves that allow it to be worn comfortably over another garment.
Flat or In the Round
An especially useful feature of the current pattern is the choice of construction method. Christine Rouvillé updated Pull Gaspard so the pattern now includes instructions for knitting it flat or in the round.
This gives knitters more flexibility to choose the construction method they prefer.
Yarn and Sizing
The original pattern calls for DK-weight Graine de laine Physalis. The designer indicates that two skeins are used for all listed sizes.
If substituting another DK yarn, matching the pattern gauge is more important than matching the original yarn exactly, particularly for a fitted baby or toddler garment.
